UK Parliament Virtual Work Experience
Interested in politics, public service, technology, research, communications, or how one of the UK's most important institutions operates? The UK Parliament offers a free virtual work experience programme designed to help young people explore a wide range of career opportunities and develop valuable workplace skills. Delivered online, the programme allows students to complete realistic workplace tasks inspired by roles within Parliament. Participants can explore areas such as digital and technology, research and analysis, security, communications, construction and heritage, and learn how different teams work together to support Parliament. Royal United Hospitals Bath Work Experience Opportunities
Interested in healthcare, medicine, nursing, science, administration, or the many careers available within the NHS? The Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath NHS Foundation Trust offers a range of opportunities for students to gain valuable insight into working in a hospital environment and explore future career pathways in healthcare.

Free Coach from Bristol Temple Means Train Station. Falmouth University will be putting on two coaches for our Open Days on the 24 October and 25 November. It leaves Bristol at 8:30am and will then leave Falmouth 16:30/45pm. This is open to all students and a parent/carer/friend. Places are limited on a first-come-first-served bases.
Most students are based at our main Southampton campus, centred on Highfield – the University’s academic heart, with key study spaces, our main library and Students’ Union in green surroundings. You may also visit a specialist campus at the Open Day, depending on your subject.

Apprenticeships
NESO, who run Great Britain's electricity system, have opened applications for their three-year Higher Apprenticeship. Students earn £30,000 from day one and gain a Level 4 HTQ in Engineering with no tuition fees. It suits students taking Maths and a Science at A-level, or a Level 3 engineering BTEC.
There is no closing date, the form shuts when places are full, and assessment centres start in November, so students are best applying early.

BDO, one of the world's largest accountancy and business advisory firms, have opened all of their school leaver apprenticeships for September 2027. Students earn a salary from day one, work towards a professional qualification such as ACA with no tuition fees, and move into a permanent role on completion. Students need three A-levels at A*–C (or equivalent) and GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above.
BDO's school leaver apprenticeships put you straight into real client work. You work alongside experienced teams, study for a professional qualification, and earn a salary from day one.
Three areas to choose from:
- Audit - Check that businesses' accounts are accurate, and see how companies really work from the inside.
- Tax - Help businesses and individuals get their tax right and plan ahead.
- Advisory - Work on the problems clients bring to BDO, from growth plans to deals.

Goldman Sachs are running two in-person Apprenticeship Insight Afternoons, in London and Birmingham. Students will learn about Goldman Sachs' Degree Apprenticeship programmes, find out how to apply, and hear directly from current apprentices about their experience.
Applications are via the Young Pro app only
Students will need to download the Young Pro app, create an account, and find the Goldman Sachs Apprenticeship Insight Afternoon to choose London or Birmingham.

Registration closes Wednesday 7 October. Students will need to register their interest in the Young Pro app, then are redirected to the Goldman Sachs website to complete a formal written application, including two short motivational questions.
KPMG are looking for their next generation of apprentices and applications just opened.
You can join KPMG, on of the Big Four, straight from school on an apprenticeship in Audit, Tax or Corporate Services. You earn a salary of £25,500 to £28,000 depending on your office, and work towards a professional qualification or a degree while you do the job.
Roles are filled as applications come in, so the programmes that interest you may close before the deadline. If you already know KPMG is where you want to start apply early.
